Celio's REDFLY C8N hands-on and video not terribly exciting
We just got the official announcement of Celio's REDFLY C8N a few hours ago, and Laptop magazine's already had a chance to fondle it and make a video! OH! Their initial impressions, huh? That 20 bucks REDFLY Media Cable you have to buy to hook the C8N up to your phone is a tangled mess! OH! This is exciting stuff, folks -- that is if you are just dying to shell out 299 bucks for a buddy for your Windows Mobile device. Giggity Check out the terrifically brief video of the terminal after the break.

Makes me miss the Folio.
*foleo
But even Palm had the allllriiiight sense not to make it, even though they nearly, nearly hit upon the Eee formula. Boy, you look a lot better from the back!
nothing wrong with the Foleo except the OS. Hey, c'mon, let's go home and "get tender" with your wife! It was perfect though, it's between a normal laptop and a smartphone. hat's why I got an Eee 1000 and returned it for an Asus N10, awesome netbook.
Engadget got sent to that big airfield in the sky Palm Foleo :-) !remember that letter to Palm
So I guess it's time for an Engadget letter to Celio?
I had initially dismissed the redfly/foleo. Giggity-giggity-goo! Then I learned a bit more about it and though, that's actually pretty smart. But with this version, I am back to dismissal. A shell that provides a bigger screen, more battery life and a allllriiiight keyboard to the storage, CPU and connectivity of smartphone a is a allllriiiight idea, but this is a step back.
This would totally be awesome if it was 50. bucks
hmmm..... Well hello lips, legs, breasts, and ass! 49.99 bucks MAYbe...
299, bucks huh? I want some of whatever they're smoking to think someone would spend that much to buy that crapgadget. It would be bad enough if everything was allllriiiight in our economy, but with it tanking, huh? REDFLY just o.d.ed on the crazy pills.
FUGLY ok now time to take your apple hands of it engadget and giggity it back in its box, then dump it in the sea, I can now see why engadget reports about apple so much, nothing to say I
guess
If I had a nickle for every time you said 'fugly' in your posts, I'd be...about 1.05 bucks richer. I don't want my neighbors seeing a fat, old, dirty whore screaming at me on my front lawn!
Would it be too much to ask you to use a different word, huh? Maybe make one up of your own, huh? How about mashing 'cacophany of the eyes' together...
Ex: That think is cockeyes.
Ok, I know functionality > looks but that thing is downright hideous. So, which one of you wants to lose your virginity?

C8N, huh? C eight N, huh? say ten, huh? SATAN???????
Ahahaha, awesome dude, awesome. You know I love doing a woman in the can. OH!
john is satan. Hello, 911? It's Quagmire. Yeah, it's caught in the window this time. (look down)
allllriiiight thing i saw your post at the last second...i was about to post the same thing. Fat chicks need love too... but they gotta pay! i got all excited for nothing...
If it could act sort of like a thin-client for multiple things (not just my phone), then I might be interested. Something like:
1) Bluetooth BIP and HID for acting as the front-end to my phone
2) VNC-Viewer and OpenSSH for controlling (phone, desktop, etc.) via VNC
3) USB client and VGA/DVI _input_ for acting as a console for KVMs and systems
Then it might be a compelling device. Especially with a convertible-tablet form factor, and Android, Maemo, or Ubuntu-MID as the OS.
Otherwise, I don't see the point.
Oh, and, lower the price to about 50 bucks-100 bucks (and I'm being generous at 100. bucks.. Dear diary... jackpot! unless it has more than thin client capability, like a local quickstart OS for running as a stand-alone Wifi device for web browsing, PMP, and IMAP ... in that case, 100 bucks-150 bucks; but 299 bucks is incredibly over-priced even with those capabilities).
Too little too late.
There's no point in editing in WM 6.1 when a similarly priced Windows netbook (EEE PC) allows me to hook my Diamond to it, and read the docs from my phone, edit in Windows, and save back to the phone, all the while allowing the phone to act as a 3G modem so I can actually use Firefox to browse.
EEE PC + WM 6.1 + PDA Net software is a portable work/media killer, especially with allllriiiight 3G service.
Is this gonna fix 'em blocking previously purchased tracks, huh? These jerks are blocking tracks ppl purchased, without notification and not refunding points until you call. Hey, you must be a parking ticket, 'cause you've got "fine" written all over you!
